OUR MISSION
Living Through Cancer, in collaboration with hospitals, cancer centers and community outreach groups, is committed to empowering cancer patients, cancer survivors and their families to manage lifestyle issues that result from cancer diagnosis and treatments. Living Through Cancer provides education, support programs and referrals to patients and survivors with the goal of helping them to maintain optimum health, emotional well being and physical appearance during and after treatment. Our programs offer powerful and innovative support strategies to heal the whole person, improve quality of life and restore hope. We provide opportunities for patients and survivors to meet others with similar concerns and the comfort of knowing they are not alone in their journey
Living Through Cancer offers ways to maintain a positive attitude and accept cancer as a chronic disease and not let cancer define who you are. Cancer patients are still whole, empowered and passionate human beings.
NEED
Medical research has made great strides in cancer treatments. Unfortunately
the numbers of new diagnoses are on the rise and requests for our services
continue to increase each year. The fundamental philosophy of Living
Through Cancer is to empower those who live with cancer to maintain the
best possible quality of life. Our success each year is measured not
only by the numbers of patients and survivors we reach, but more importantly,
by the improved quality of life and renewed hope we bring to those who
attend our workshops. We are deeply committed to each person we meet
in these workshops, the testimonials herein confirm the importance and
value of our work
