Give Hope for the Holidays

Everyone has had requests to 'look inside your heart' in support of worthy causes. Many people's hearts are full of generosity and a philanthropic desires.

But look into the hearts of others:

  • A young woman barely 30 years old, an 8-month-old son on her hip, wondering who will watch him every time she's in the infusion chair, and anger building at the unfairness of it all - not to her, but to him. She's terrified of how she can manage that anger, his needs, her health, and breast cancer all at the same time. Living Through Cancer can help.
  • A 70-year-old man recently declared 'prostate cancer free.' For 40 years, he and his wife have been partners, together through every up and down. They are thrilled to have been given back years a few months ago they thought would be gone forever... yet still, they are wary and unsure how - and if - to get back to life as they knew it. Should we eat better? Should we cut down on our vacations with the grandchildren? Living Through Cancer can help.

These, and hundreds of others like them, are the ones to keep in mind when considering your donation to Living Through Cancer. In these people we find the need for the services of Living Through Cancer - as well as our - and your - inspiration to give back to our community.

Your generous donation to Living Through Cancer will help make sure that cancer patients, survivors and caregivers receive the support that allow them to get back to life: the young mothers, the elderly couples, the people you know - and those you don't - who take the cancer journey. It will help assure that the dreaded moment never occurs, when Living Through Cancer has to turn away someone coming to us for help. In these financial times, it's becoming more and more likely, unless we can increase our support immediately.

How much is enough? Of course, there's never enough. We might as well ask the researcher in the local hospital to just go ahead and find a cure for all cancers. But as we've all learned living in this world of disease, we survive one step at a time and enriching lives and saving those we can, while the scientists continue to strive for that ultimate cure.

In the meantime, anything you can give is valued, appreciated and critical.

  • $25 will allow one patient to talk with an expert about life after treatment.
  • $100 helps five people learn about nutrition during chemotherapy.
  • $200 supports a workshop for 10 cancer patients where they are being treated.

Our organization runs with extremely low overhead, so you can be assured that the full amount of your donation will go directly to support the programs.

Thank you for your past support, as well as your continued confidence and loyalty to the Living Through Cancer Mission.
