Cranial Hair Loss
A compelling question for many cancer patients is What can I expect to happen
to my hair as a result of treatments?. Depending on the treatment protocol the
patient is receiving, thinning, total hair loss and re-growth can occur at different
stages of treatment. The Foundation’s hair presentation provides answers
to this question. Patient demonstration show attractive, simple and effective
ways to use hair accessories and partial replacement during thinning and custom
hair replacements during total hair loss. All hair replacements are designed
and fitted by experienced hair replacement practitioners who specialize in working
with cancer patients. Follow up individual services are available. Some health
maintenance organizations provide coverage for this procedure, and under certain
financial guidelines the foundation will provide a cranial hair replacement at
no cost.
